Custom fireplace built-in in Lake in the Hills, IL in Sebior’s New York Collection with LED-lit display shelving and clean closed storage for a polished media wall.
Lake in the Hills Fireplace Built-In in the New York Collection
This Lake in the Hills project was designed to turn the fireplace wall into a clean, finished focal point while adding storage and display space that actually gets used. Using Sebior’s New York Collection, we created matching built-ins on both sides of the fireplace, with warm LED-lit open shelving for décor and closed cabinetry below to keep the room looking tidy. The final result feels built into the architecture of the home and gives the living space a polished, custom look.
At a glance
This project took place in Bartlett, IL and uses the New York Collection. Scope includes full kitchen cabinetry with integrated lighting upgrades. Highlights include under-cabinet LED lighting, lit corner cabinet storage, optional motion-activated lighting, and a bright sink area that keeps the space feeling open.
The vision and goals
The homeowner wanted a kitchen that felt modern but inviting, with a layout and finish palette that keeps the space light and easy to live in. The priorities were keeping the kitchen bright and airy, improving task lighting for everyday use, making corner storage more functional, and creating a clean, streamlined look with minimal visual clutter.
Design highlights
The built-in layout is intentionally symmetrical, framing the fireplace and TV so the entire wall feels balanced and purposeful. Open shelving on both sides includes integrated LED lighting that highlights décor and creates a warm glow in the evening. The lower cabinets add hidden storage for everyday items, games, and accessories, keeping surfaces clear. Everything is finished in a rich, modern look that ties the shelving, fireplace wall, and surrounding trim together so it reads as one seamless installation.
The Process
We started by confirming measurements, wall conditions, and the overall layout around the fireplace and TV. Once the design was finalized, we planned the shelving configuration and LED lighting placement so the light would be even and clean. After fabrication, the built-ins were installed for a true wall-to-wall fit, then we completed final alignment, finishing details, and lighting checks to make sure the entire wall looked sharp from every angle.
