Our primary objective was to deliver a sophisticated, modern take on a wood grain that can occasionally lean traditional. The clients wanted a spacious, highly functional environment centered around a grand island that could comfortably accommodate casual dining and social seating. They required an uncompromising commitment to quality, demanding that the beauty of the exterior cabinetry be matched by the durability and engineering of the interior construction and hardware.

- Premium Rift White Oak: Utilized exclusively for all exterior cabinetry, stiles, rails, and custom glass-front door boxes. Rift sawing produces an incredibly stable board with a perfectly straight, linear grain pattern, offering an ultra-clean, modern aesthetic.
- Natural Multi-Coat Finish: Every stile and rail was carefully matched to showcase deep-wood character. We protected the wood with three coats of our proprietary ultra-matte finish, keeping the rift oak looking perfectly natural and untouched.

What makes rift sawn oak different from regular oak?
Rift sawing is the most resource-intensive and expensive method of milling lumber. The log is cut at a precise angle perpendicular to the growth rings, which produces a board with a perfectly straight, linear grain pattern and no visible ray fleck. This eliminates the wavy “cathedral” arches associated with flat-sawn oak and delivers an ultra-clean, modern aesthetic. Rift sawn boards are also more dimensionally stable than flat-sawn boards, meaning they are less prone to warping and cupping over time. It is a premium material that commands a premium price, but the result is a kitchen that looks refined and intentional for decades.

Absolutely. In the Countryside project, we specified GRASS Nova Pro Scala drawer systems throughout the kitchen island and base cabinets. These German-engineered slides feature ultra-slim double-wall steel construction that maximizes interior storage space, advanced synchronization for lateral stability, and a silent, fluid running action even when fully loaded. All cabinet doors are fitted with premium Tiomos hidden hinges, which offer whisper-quiet soft-close mechanics and precise, multi-dimensional alignment that keeps doors perfectly even year after year. We also integrated Fineline internal drawer organizers and motion-controlled Elektra LED accent lighting throughout the space.
